Size of study:
64,637 adults
Summary
This study found that decreasing telomere length increased the incidence of all-cause mortality. The mortality was similar for both cancer and cardiovascular disease. Short telomeres in peripheral blood leukocytes were associated with increased mortality.

Is the method used to gather and measure teleomeres the same as used in this institutional study? If not, please describe the difference and how that might affect accuracy.
How reliable are your measurements? How will they be presented to me?
Will the results be kept conidential?
Hi Dr. Casella – Yes. TeloYears uses the qPCR method to measure average telomere length as it is considered the gold standard and is the preferred method used in the vast majority of academic and clinical research. We maintain that our measurements are the most accurate available – the coefficient of variability of our average telomere length measurement is typically in the 2% to 3% range.
