Physical Activity, Sedentary Behavior, and Leukocyte Telomere Length in Women

Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journal:
American Journal Of Epidemiology

Size of study:
7,813 women, 43–70 years of age

Summary
Moderate amounts of physical activity can be associated with longer telomeres in women. In particular calisthenics or aerobics was associated with increased leukocyte telomere length and these associations persisted after adjustment for body mass index.
