Emotions and family interactions in childhood: Associations with leukocyte telomere length emotions, family interactions, and telomere length

Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journal:
Psychoneuroendocrinology

Size of study:
39 children, 8-13 years of age

Summary
The analysis in this study suggested that negative mood reactivity to marital conflict in the home was related to shorter leukocyte telomere length. A stronger association was found between positive mood and marital affection, suggesting positive mood reactivity was related to longer leukocyte telomere length in the children.
