Summary
In this narrative review of 18 studies published on the relationship between stress and telomere length, chronic social stress was found to accompany telomere shortening in both early and adult exposures, with most eligible studies showing a significant relationship. The study encourages further research on the stress-telomere length link and discusses its’ potential importance for public policy.
